Wednesday, January 24, 2018
6-8 pm – La Cañada Thursday Club
The LCF Sister Cities Youth Group holds quarterly meetings at the La Cañada Flintridge Community Center
Join us on Sunday, December 3, 2017 to hear from Guest Speaker Nia Lyte
Nia Lyte has inspired thousands of children and youth to achieve their goals and dreams, and provided underrepresented and underprivileged individuals and families foods and clothes that they desperately need around the world through the charity programs of the Koyamada International Foundation (KIF), a 501(c)(3) U.S. nonprofit organization based in United States, Japan and Colombia.
Through the programs of her foundation KIF, Lyte is committed to empower women around the world, and inspire children and youth to achieve their goals and dreams.
Lyte is also dedicated to providing international assistance which connects people with resources they desperately need. For over 5 years, Lyte has directly delivered hundreds of donated clothes and handmade beverages to hundreds of underrepresented and underprivileged individuals and families in the United States and Colombia. In response to the physically and spiritually devastating earthquake and the subsequent tsunami that struck the Tohoku region of Japan on March 11, 2011, she helped distributing the relief goods and supplies filled in the 20-foot container to victims of the disaster areas in Japan. She has contributed the relief funds directly to the victims of the 2015 Nepal Earthquake Disaster.
Lyte was officially appointed by the Colombian Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism of Government of Colombia as a Colombian Goodwill Ambassador in Bogotá, Colombia in 2015.
Her mission as a Goodwill Ambassador is to promote the positive image of Colombia internationally. Born and raised half of her life in Bogotá, Colombia, Lyte understands how important it is to always remember her identity as a Colombian and promote Colombia in a positive way for the future generation.
